Archie becomes outraged when he finds a spicy letter that Mike wrote Gloria before they were married. When Edith tries to defend Mike and Gloria, Archie accidentally discovers that Edith is harboring a secret. Sometime in the distant past, Edith once spent a weekend at the home of Freddy Whitehouse, a former boyfriend, while he was away in the US Army serving overseas during World War II.
With his usual lack of sense of tact or propriety, Archie reacts to this revelation by going into a jealous rage and going out of the house in a huff. Mike then goes down to Kelsey's Bar to try to talk Archie into coming back to the house. When he returns home, he manages to get Edith to apologize even though there was nothing to apologize for.
