Edith's Conversion was the ninth episode of the fourth season and the 70th overall episode of All In The Family. The Season 4 episode first aired on CBS-TV on November 10, 1973. The episode was written by Ray Taylor and was co-directed by John Rich and Bob LaHendro.
Archie is upset that Edith is spending so much time with Irene Lorenzo, going to her Catholic services and concerts. When Father Majesky drops off some pamphlets of information about Catholicism, Archie begins to suspect that Edith might be converting. He visits Majesky in his office to tell him not to try and convert her, but the good father talks him down. So does Edith, who tells him that she is only interested in learning about someone else's religion.
Archie is uncomfortable with Edith's new friend, a peppery Catholic nun named Sister Theresa (Phyllis Avery). When Edith begins attending mass -- mainly to hear the music -- Archie worries that his wife is planning to convert to Catholicism. In his usual roundabout manner, Arch holds next-door neighbor Irene Lorenzo for leading Edith "astray."
