Mike's ex-girlfriend shows up with a four-year-old boy in tow. She tells Edith that Mike is the father and wants him to claim the boy. Wanting to avoid a confrontation, Edith does her best to conceal the boy from Archie.
An old flame of Mike's, Marilyn Sanders (guest star Marcia Rodd) unexpectedly shows up one night at the Bunker doorstep. Insisting that Mike is father of her son, Danny (Stephen Manley), Marilyn leaves the kid with the Bunkers and disappears as quickly as she came. Now Mike must do a lot of soul-searching (and mental backtracking), while the rest of the family struggles vainly to cope with this latest bombshell.
