Mike's Mysterious Son is the 17th episode aired during the second season and the 30th overall episode of All in the Family. The Season 2 episode first aired on CBS-TV on January 22, 1972. Directed by John Rich, the story was co-written by Michael Ross, Bernie West and Susan Harris.
Marcia Rodd appears as the role of Marylin; she would return later in the season as Maude Findlay's daughter.
Synopsis
Mike's ex-girlfriend shows up with a four-year-old boy in tow. She tells Edith that Mike is the father and wants him to claim the boy. Wanting to avoid a confrontation, Edith does her best to conceal the boy from Archie.
Plot
An old flame of Mike's, Marilyn Sanders unexpectedly shows up one night at the Bunker doorstep. Insisting that Mike is father of her son Danny (Steve Manley), Marilyn leaves the kid with the Bunkers and disappears as quickly as she came. Now Mike must do a lot of soul-searching (and mental backtracking), while the rest of the family struggles vainly to cope with this latest bombshell.
