Priscilla Morrill (June 4, 1927 – November 9, 1994) appeared in four episodes of All In The Family from Seasons 3 through 7 in various roles, most notably as Nurse Bernice in the Season 5 episode "Birth of the Baby:Part 2". Priscilla is perhaps also well known to TV sitcom fans for her appearance as Chrissy Snow's mother on the ABC-TV series Three's Company, in the episode titled "And Mother Makes Four", which was the second episode of the series. A venerable stage, TV and film actress, Priscilla was probably best known for her television performance as Lou Grant's wife on another hit 1970's sitcom series, CBS-TV's long-running The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

CareerEdit

Born and raised in Boston, Morrill attended the Carnegie Institute before making her stage debut opposite John Carradine in Julius Caesar. She made her Broadway acting debut in The Relapse with Cyril Ritchard.[1]

Morrill's first television performance was on the Outer Limits episode "The Man With The Power" in 1963. She went on to guest star on numerous television series and television movies. Morrill also had recurring roles on Family, Bret Maverick, Santa Barbara, and Newhart. In addition to guest-starring roles, she also co-starred in two short-lived series: In the Beginning starring McLean Stevenson, and Baby Makes Five starring Peter Scolari. Morrill made her last onscreen appearance on an episode of the hit ABC-TV sitcom Coach in 1992. Jean Stapleton stated in an interview for the Archive of American Television, Morrill was the stand-in for her in the ninth season episode of All In The Family, "A Girl Like Edith" where Stapleton had a dual role. She made an appearance in the ABC-TV action series MacGyver, in the season two episode "D.O.A.: MacGyver" as Helen Wilson.

DeathEdit

On November 9, 1994, Morrill died of complications of a kidney infection at the Cedars Siani Medical Center in Los Angeles at the age of 67. She was survived by her husband, Paul Bryson.[1]
