Robert Mandan (born February 2, 1932) guest starred on All In The Family as Mr. Morrison, a prominent attorney for the NYC Commissioner who's the father of a young man whom robbed Archie while driving Munson's cab, who offers Archie a $100 bribe not to press charges on his son in the Season 4 (ep.#13) "The Taxi Caper".

Robert is perhaps best known for his portrayals of playwright David Allen on the NBC serial From These Roots from 1958 to 1961, businessman Sam Reynolds on the serial Search for Tomorrow from 1965 to 1970, and Chester Tate on the ABC-TV satirical sitcom series Soap from 1977 to 1981. During his time on Search for Tomorrow, he appeared in the Broadway musical Applause.

Acting careerEdit

Robert appeared on the popular CBS-TV game show Match Game in 1978, NBC's Super Password in January 1985, and made appearances on The $20,000 Pyramid as well as The $25,000 Pyramid. In addition to his Soap years, he made some appearances with some of his fellow cast members on All Star Family Feud one-hour specials.

He played Mr. Kirby in an NBC television production of You Can't Take it With You. He played the ineffective but well-meaning Colonel Fielding on the television adaptation of the movie Private Benjamin in 1981; James Bradford on ABC's Three's a Crowd opposite John Ritter in 1984; and Peace Corps member Dr. Bruce Gaines, who married Mrs. Garrett in her final episodes on The Facts of Life in 1986. He also appeared as Steven in the 1990 episode of The Golden Girls entitled "Great Expectations".[1]

In 1991, Mandan reunited with his former TV wife Katherine Helmond from Soap on Who's the Boss?. He appeared in Married with Children in the episode "The D'Arcy Files" (1994). He starred in serials more recently playing Mr. Jonesy alongside Louise Sorel on Days of our Lives from 1997 to 1998. He guest-starred as a judge on General Hospital in early 2006.

He appeared in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Cardassians". He also played an auctioneer on the very first episode of Sanford and Son titled "Crossed Swords", and in 1990, he played Maxwell Hammer, a friend of Minx, in the NBC-TV daytime soap opera series Santa Barbara. He also appeared as Barry, a homosexual friend of Maude in an episode of the CBS-TV series Maude.

Mandan is married to Sherry Dixon.[2][3][4]
